About the recording project
The SILICON VALLEY YOUTH HARP ENSEMBLE has gained recognition and become sought after for community performances since its inception in January, 2014. The ensemble has performed in the SVCAHS's Spring Fever concerts, the 311 Earthquake Relief Benefit Concert, the annual Christmas Celebration of the San Jose Museum of Art, Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society, Chinese New Year Celebration, and many retirement communities.

The recording session took place on October 4, 2015 at Maryknoll Seminary in Los Altos, which has generously loaned their beautiful chapel to the ensemble. The recording engineer was Heidi Trefethen. The ensemble would like to "Kick-Start" a fundraising drive by releasing the Holiday Joy CD to seek public support so that they may raise enough funds to record additional pieces of music for a full-length CD.
The young ensemble members (aged 8-16) not only play the harp well, but also learn the qualities of leadership, management, technology skills, and the discipline to work with professional recording specialists through this project. There is also a huge amount of teamwork involved. We'd like to present our music and help promote music education, the harp and its music. Your support is very important to help us make this dream become a reality. Your generosity is very much appreciated!
It is convenient to make your donation online. Act now to help this group of hard working students at PayPal. *At the note/memo area, please mark Y.E.S. CD Project. Thank you for your kind generosity and support! |
